» The False Sense of Security Installation Offer

There are many companies today that advertise you can have a security system installed for $99, or even free of charge. These ‘security systems’ typically include nothing more than a master control and a keypad, a couple of door contacts and a motion detector, a yard-sign and a few stickers for your windows. In our professional opinion, these systems bring families a false sense of security as they do not provide ‘real-protection’ for the family.

Some people make the statement that ‘something is better than nothing’ when it comes to security for your family. We emphatically disagree.

Most people have many exterior doors and windows in their homes, and we all should realize that the motion detectors cannot be on while you are in the home for obvious reasons; if you get up in the middle of the night you will set off the motion detectors.

What about protecting the family from someone who would break a window and enter a home while the family sleeps? What about protecting the family from fire or carbon monoxide poisoning ? What about water leak detection? If the water heater leaks, it may be hours before you know about this. Especially if you are not home when the leak occurs.

Cellular backup and VOIP monitoring services are available.

Have you thought about the fact that all security systems need a telephone line to communicate to the monitoring center? Most telephone lines are exposed on the side of your home, in easy reach of criminals’ wire cutters. Installing a cellular backup assures you that the signals from your security system will reach the Benson Systems monitoring center.

These ‘false-sense-of-security’ systems provide a tiny bit of protection for when you are away from the home, but little more. Things can be replaced, but you and your family members cannot be replaced. This is why we strongly advocate that families install comprehensive security systems.

If you plan to install a security system, install one that will actually protect your family while they are sleeping, or home alone as well as when the family is away.

The sign outside that says you have a security system may make the neighborhood amateur thief think twice, but it will not stop a professional. Please do not be fooled by these cheaply-priced installation offers.

Your family’s security may count on it.
