 Local is
better.
Does it matter whether your security and fire systems
are monitored locally or on the other side of the country? In a word,
absolutely. Local monitoring is better because the local people who are
monitoring your system are well aware of ongoing problems, such as bad
weather, which can wreak havoc on alarm systems. The people sitting in a
call center on the East coast are oblivious to the problems we are
experiencing. Some companies have even taken their call centers to other
countries.
