 Shawn Benson
began his career in the electronics industry more than twenty years ago as
a teenager, pulling wire in attics as a helper on security system
installations. At the age of 21, and with $10,000 of money he had saved,
he started his own business, Benson Security Systems, in 1986.
He and his wife Anne, a Registered Nurse, leased a small office and
warehouse space and had two vehicles; a work truck and Anne’s vehicle.
Shawn remembers many years of being at his office at 4 AM and leaving for
home at 8 PM. Through diligence, determination and many long hours of work
the company has grown steadily for more than two-decades.
Always an entrepreneur, over the last two-decades Shawn Benson started an
electrical contracting company, expanded Benson Systems to several other
cities in the United States and won many national awards. He personally
has a NICET Level 4 certification in fire alarm systems.
Over the last-20-years Benson Systems has evolved into a complete systems
integration company for security systems, security cameras, card access
systems and gate operators. Benson Systems has an IT Systems Division that
can assist you with your IT infrastructure, implementation and support.
Although Benson Systems has installed fire alarm systems since the
beginning, in 2005 the Benson Systems Fire Division was created. This
division can assist you with all of your fire system, fire sprinkler,
FM200, Ansul, fire extinguisher and emergency exit lighting installation
requirements, including required annual inspections on all of the systems
we install. In addition to installing all of these systems we also service
the systems 24/7.
In 2007, Benson Systems was one of only seven companies in the United
States to be chosen by Cisco as a Physical Security Authorized Technology
Partner. Benson Systems also became the official security company for the
Phoenix Coyotes and the Jobbing.com Arena.
 Most of the
upper management team of Benson Systems have been with the company for
more than a decade.
Benson Systems, (Benson Security Systems, Inc.) is an Arizona-based
corporation and is privately owned by the Benson family. Benson Systems
has installed systems throughout the United States, Mexico and as far away
as Guam. Today, the Benson family employs over 100 people and has more
than 40 service trucks on the road every day.
Benson Systems services clients in Arizona, throughout the Southwest and
in California as well as many areas of Mexico.
